The Blues Cocktail

This bold, berry cocktail will have you singing anything but the blues. The simple combo of gin, lime juice and fresh blueberries is pure, summertime deliciousness.

 

2 oz. gin
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
3/4 oz. blueberry syrup (see below)
Ice cubes
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: coupe
Garnish: speared fresh blueberry

Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish.

For the blueberry syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 cup fresh blueberries, lightly crushed

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature. Strain into a clean glass bottle and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
