Perhaps the most classic use of sloe gin, the fizz brings vibrancy and life to the tart liqueur.
1 1/2 oz. sloe gin 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice 1 tsp. sugar Club soda 1 fresh egg white (optional) Ice Tools: shaker, strainer Glass: highball
Combine lemon juice and sugar in a cocktail shaker and mix to dissolve sugar; add sloe gin (and, if using, egg white). Fill shaker with ice and shake well for 10 seconds. Strain into glass and top with 2-3 ounces chilled club soda, to taste.
