Inspired by the Charentes Shrub—the winning entry in Imbibe’s 2011 cover cocktail contest—bartender Keith Groff created this sudsy mix of gin, citrus, falernum and beer. 1 1/2 oz. gin 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice 3/4 oz. John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum 2 oz. hoppy beer, such as an IPA Dash of orange bitters Ice cubes Tools: shaker, strainer Glass: Collins
Combine all ingredients, except beer, and shake with ice. Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass and top with beer.
