Apple Spiced Martini

“I love enjoying apples when they’re at their best,” says chef Marcus Samuelsson of this Apple Martini. “And the spices remind me of apple pie.”

  • 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. apple-spiced simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Tools:shaker, strainer
  • Glass:coupe
  • Garnish:cinnamon-sugar rim; apple ribbon

Preparation

Rim a glass with the sugar and set aside. Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into the prepared glass and garnish with the apple ribbon.

Apple-Spiced Simple SyrupCombine 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. of ground ginger, 1 tsp. of ground allspice, 1 tsp. of ground nutmeg, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 slice of a red apple, 1/4-inch thick, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan, bring to a boil and stir to combine.
